Waltham, Mass. (WJAR) — One person is dead and 27 others were injured after a shuttle bus crashed into a tree Saturday night in Waltham, Mass.
In a statement released Sunday morning, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office confirmed the shuttle bus was transporting 27 students to Brandeis from a hockey game at Northeastern University in Boston when it crashed just after 10:30 p.m.
A spokesperson for Brandeis University released a statement saying school officials had been informed that 27 people were taken to area hospitals.
One person died on scene from their injuries. There was no immediate update on any of the others' conditions.
The University is offering extra support to students as a result of the accident.
