Nate Cox was a two-sport athlete at St. Thomas More High School in Louisiana, where he played football and basketball.
In 2016, he led St. Thomas More to a district and state title by throwing for over 3,500 yards and 48 touchdowns.
He participated in the I-10 All-Star Game and was named All-Acadiana as a senior. Coach Jim Hightower was Nate's coach.
In high school, Nate only played one season, and after that s a senior, Nate set the state championship single-game passing record.
In college football, the Nevada Wolf Pack football team represents the University of Nevada, Reno.
From my very first start in 2019, through my last game. Through the ups and downs I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Good luck to all my boys tomorrow @NevadaFootball wish I could suit up with you boys one more time… pic.twitter.com/Je0NlyynpL
The Wolf Pack competes in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision as part of the Mountain West Conference. In Reno, Nevada, the Sagebrushers were created on October 24, 1896.
He's the tallest quarterback in NFL history, standing at 6-foot-9, a record held by Reno native Dan McGwire (6-8).
However, as shown on CBS Sports Network during the Wolf Pack's triumph last week, Nate punts with his left foot and kicks field goals with his right, a unique combination.
Nat also played in the Little League World Series when he was 12 years old.
